Abstract
The growth of ubiquitous, free or low cost technology tools has transformed the hard copy portfolio into a digital document. Electronic portfolios have the potential to illustrate a great range of student capabilities. Despite this, the implementation of the student portfolios in higher education remains sluggish. This session will examine: The changing definition of the ePortfolio artifact; the impact of artifact collection on the instructional program; the impact of artifact storage and access on the technical infrastructure; Legal implications for sharing group artifacts; Best practices of institutions with ePortfolio graduation requirements; ePortfolio assessment.
