Abstract
As Bruce Schneier says, good engineering is about making things work; the security mindset involves thinking about how things can be made to fail. The best security professionals think like their attackers or adversaries, constantly thinking about how to circumvent the security of any system. In this talk, we examine how attitude, not aptitude, presents the widest gap in developing effective cybersecurity talent today, and how we might better train cybersecurity professionals to think like hardened criminals.
