Abstract
The Literacy Coaching Series (LCS) is a “workshop in a box” for literacy leaders who want to help teachers enhance their practice and improve their students’ reading achievement. The LCS is based on several research studies conducted, to examine the relationship between literacy coaching and student reading achievement.
With student reading achievement as the primary goal, this series is aimed at the literacy coach and presented as a series of vignettes. Each vignette includes an introduction, definition of terms, and suggestions relating to critical viewing points within the vignette. The practice is then modeled by a coach and teacher in a classroom setting; and, following this, an expert presents a debriefing. Viewing guides, reference materials, forms and exercises are included in PDF form, intended to supplement each specific set of vignettes presented in the series.
