Abstract

This is full video footage of the March 6th Inserra event, "A Journey to Italy: Contrasting Perceptions of the Nation Through Photography". In focusing on the work of contemporary Italian photographers (Barbieri, Ghirri) who have worked in the interstices of these two opposite representations, the lecture provided a more critical reading of Italy's landscape, artistic and architectural heritage, and people. Presented in Italian with English subtitles and consecutive translation.
