Fablicator
Abstract
Additive Manufacturing (or as it is better known) 3D Printing: a short power point overview of the history of additive manufacturing and the different technologies which are often lumped together under the title of 3D printing. Included in this presentation will be functional demonstration of fused filament printing one of the more common 3D print technologies using the Fablicator 3D printer. Comparisons to other 3D print technologies will be made as well as how the Fablicator generally compares to other fused filament (or FDM) printers both larger and smaller on the market.

By end of presentation the attendees should have a grasp that the technology has been around longer than many think. Have a better understanding that while generally all called 3D printing there are a number of very different technologies that make up this category. Understand where fused filament fits in this mix and why for most educational uses it is best match. Plus a very general comparison of the type and level of equipment in this section of 3D printing and their trade off’s.
