Abstract
The use of web-conferencing to support teaching and learning, and to facilitate communication, collaboration and information sharing is common in higher education.
Web-conferencing tools lend themselves naturally to cooperative learning, peer tutoring, and project-based learning that engages students in active learning. This session will focus on approaches to incorporate these research-based instructional strategies into online and blended learning courses to provide opportunities for meaningful interaction online.
The presenter will discuss best practices and present latest research findings on the effectiveness of these strategies to improve student achievement and retention.
