Abstract
"There is among you the messenger of God, the future prophet whom the gospel has announced as the successor of Jesus." This program narrates the biography of Muhammad, a merchant from Mecca, reportedly called by Allah to be his prophet and spread the Muslim faith. Why was Islam so readily accepted by so many? What is the secret of Islam’s appeal? And why do many non-Muslims fear the religion’s spread? The answers to these and many other questions are powerfully illustrated by footage of holy sites and rituals, as well as modern desert life in Saudi Arabia - so little changed, in many ways, since Muhammad’s time.
