Abstract
This fast paced and innovative workshop will include an introduction to multimedia writing as a art form, explain the difference between it and traditional writing, and review the theoretical focus of service-learning and experiential education. Participants will leave with exercises and activities that they can integrate into their online learning environment that support service-learning objectives. This is an excellent opportunity for faculty and administrators to engage in service-learning not as the traditional volunteerism model, or even the more recent social justice model, but as an integrated, online-learning opportunity for students to participate in community and reflect and share their experiences. Both successes and failures of this approach will be discussed, as well as the opportunity to tailor it to specific programs.
